What Is The MTN Share And Sell All About?

MTN Share and Sell is a convenient to transfer or share your airtime with loved ones. Put simply, it allows you to send airtime directly from your existing balance to another MTN line. It’s important to remember that you can’t send an amount greater than what you currently have in your balance. When you first access this service, you’ll have a default PIN (0000), which you should replace with a personalized one for secure transfers. You can transfer up to NGN50,000.00 from your phone to either a single or multiple MTN account every day and the range per transaction is #50 to #5,000.

What Is The MTN Transfer PIN?

Like most PINs, the MTN Transfer PIN is a combination of 4 digits that serves as a security measure to your MTN Airtime. This PIN is needed to authenticate the airtime transfer and this is what is known as an “MTN TRANSFER PIN”. 

What Is The Default MTN Transfer PIN?

The default PIN for MTN share and sell is 0000. You must change your PIN before you can use the Share and Sell service.

How To Change Mtn Transfer Pin

  • Send an SMS with your “Default PIN” “New PIN” “New PIN” to 321. For example, send an SMS with ‘0000 4321 4321‘ to 321.
  • You can also change your PIN by dialling *321*Default PIN*New PIN* New PIN# on your phone and then click on send/press ok. For example, dial *321*0000*4321*4321# and then send/OK.

Immediately after you change your PIN using any of the options above, you will receive an SMS informing you that your PIN was changed successfully.

How to transfer MTN airtime using MTN transfer PIN

You can transfer MTN airtime SMS or USSD.

How to transfer airtime using SMS
  • Send an SMS with Transfer, Recipient’s Number, Amount and PIN to 321. For example, you can send an SMS with ‘Transfer 08031234567 1500 4321′ to 321.
  • Upon sending this message, you will receive an SMS asking you to confirm that you want to make the transfer by sending an SMS with ‘YES’ to 321.
How to transfer airtime using USSD
  • Dial *321*Recipient’s Number*Amount*PIN# on your phone and then click on send/press OK. For example, dial *321*08031234567*1500*4321# and then send/OK. When the transfer has been completed, you will receive a message informing you that the transfer was successful.

No need to worry if you’ve forgotten your transfer PIN. You can easily retrieve it with just a few clicks.

You can retrieve your MTN transfer pin by simply following the steps below.

  • Go to the messaging app on your phone.
  • Create a new message and type YES
  • Send to 310
  • Wait for a few minutes; MTN will reset your pin to the default pin of 0000 and send you a text. You can change the pin again.
